onsemi donated 10,000 face masks in Phoenix, Arizona on March 26, 2020 to kick-off the city of Phoenix’s personal protective equipment donation drive for first responders as well as assist the largest health care provider in Arizona, Banner Health, with much needed supplies during the outbreak of COVID-19.
At the Arizona site, employees have been supporting the St. Mary’s Food Bank to help combat food insecurity. Before the pandemic, a group of onsemi employees volunteered once a month at the charity to pack food boxes. With COVID-19, those organized events stopped; however, food insecurity did not. Pantry staples like peanut butter, canned goods, cereal, beans, rice and pasta were all in demand. To meet that need, ON Semiconductor’s Employee Activity Committee, one of the employee resource groups at the company, created an Early Morning Drive-Thru Food and Water Drive on July 9, 2020.
During COVID-19, onsemi held an electronics waste donation "drive-up” event at its headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona on October 28, 2020. This event took place in conjunction with the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) day during global responsibility and inclusion week, in where showed and encouraged employees to share ON Semiconductor’s core values of respect, integrity and initiative.
Consistent with our company’s commitment to make a positive impact on communities and being passionate about supporting STEAM activities, onsemi’s employee resource group, STEM UP (science, technology, engineering and mathematics for underrepresented populations) collaborated with Arizona State University’s (ASU) New College and AI4ALL to host students from across the United States in the AI4ALL SummerUP Camp for the second year in a row.
For more than 10 years, onsemi has been sponsoring a holiday gift-giving event at Academia del Pueblo Elementary School in Phoenix, Arizona. Academia del Pueblo (AdP) is a Title 1 school catering to a diverse student body from Pre-K to eighth grade.

onsemi employees based in Germany lent a helping hand to a local charity in Munich called, Salberghaus, which provides a wide range of inpatient, semi-inpatient and outpatient services, as well as in day-care centers for children between the ages of two weeks and 10 years, and their families.
In 2019, onsemi awarded a grant supporting ZeroWaste Switzerland, an environmentally focused organization working to inspire and support communities, businesses and public institutions in Switzerland, to reduce waste at the source. This grant played an important role in developing and testing educational kits for schools centered on zero waste practices and waste reduction in the classroom in 2020.
Beginning in 2019, a substantial multi-year grant was awarded by onsemi to support Orbis International’s Good Sight, Good Life project, which aims to address visual impairments due to uncorrected vision problems and provide eye care services to disadvantaged children and elderly in Vietnam.
In spring 2020, the onsemi Foundation provided a grant to Adelante Mujeres, an organization working to build a more just society by providing direct services to low-income, underrepresented communities of color throughout Washington County, Oregon. The grant monies supported the Building Chicas’ Bicultural and Bilingual STEAM Identity program, an impactful community initiative serving 600 Latina girls in grades 3-12.
The Senior Activity Center in Pocatello, Idaho is an organization committed to providing nutritional meals to seniors older than the age of 60. They were awarded a $10,000 grant from the onsemi Foundation in spring 2020. The grant was used to purchase food for the center’s nutrition program.
In 2020, the onsemi Foundation provided oral hygiene kits for a drive-thru “Dental Day” event for impoverished families through a grant and with the help of the Arizona Dental Foundation, an affiliate organization of the Arizona Dental Association.
In late 2019, onsemi provided a grant to Bernardusscholen Oudenaarde, Bernardusbron campus, to purchase a laser cutter for their STEM labs. Their STEM program focuses on many goals, such as strengthening the skills of educators, improving the process of study and career choice, ensuring more girls are able to participate in STEM studies/professions, attaining the highest STEM education standards and increasing social valuation of technical professions. Thanks to this donation, two of their secondary schools were able to expand their design program and purchase a laser cutter, in 2020.
Employees in the United Kingdom supported their local community by raising funds for Daisy’s Dream, who was chosen by a Bracknell employee after the charity had recently provided support to a close friend and family that was affected by the diagnosis of a serious illness. The charity supports children and their families affected by a life-threatening illness or death of someone close to them.
In November 2020, our employees in Ireland led our Movember campaign, which was our first fundraiser for employees at our Limerick location. It was a pleasure to work with the engineers and watching them grow their beards and mustaches for such a great cause, and more importantly, to raise awareness for men’s health and the funds we raised together to support the Irish Cancer Society.
The onsemi Foundation donated $5,000 USD to VinaCapital Foundation, which helped support 200 households and provide over 10,000 emergency relief packages for those affected by Typhoon Molave in Central Vietnam in 2020.

A massive fire broke out in Lapu-Lapu City, Philippines in July 2019, leaving over 600 families homeless. In September, employees at our site in Cebu partnered with the mayor of Lapu-Lapu City and two barangay captains to give out relief donations such as hygiene kits and five kilos of rice to the families affected by the tragedy.
In April 2019, 80 volunteers from our Cebu, Philippines site planted 4,000 mangrove propagules in honor of Earth Day. This yearly activity was aimed at reviving the country’s coastlines. Planting the propagules helps prevent future environmental damage and builds resiliency against global warming.
onsemi partnered with Het Ventiel, a nonprofit organization in Belgium dedicated to helping those with early on-set dementia by donating duo-bikes. Duobikes enable early dementia patients to continue cycling even when it becomes too difficult or unsafe for them to do so on their own. Research has shown the multiple benefits of exercise for those with dementia and onsemi is honored to help those suffering with this disease continue their active lifestyles.
onsemi helped fund a new STEAM program and project materials for the BroeBELschool STEM Academy in Belgium. At the BroeBELschool, they focus on the total development of the children. Through experiential learning, students discover their talents and learn how to use them optimally.
onsemi employees were able to donate over €2,800 (approximately $3,147 USD) to the Salberghaus children’s home in Putzbrunn, Germany. The collection was part of their annual holiday charity drive. The giving program expanded on this donation with an additional $3,000 USD contribution. The children’s home applied the donation toward a special play area for children with severe respiratory conditions.
ZeroWaste Switzerland onsemi provided a grant in Q4 2019 to help them develop and test educational kits for use by children in classrooms to introduce them to zero-waste concepts. The educational kits included discovery sheets on subjects linked to waste and resources management, creative workshops sheets linked to the subjects and recreational games to learn by doing.
