Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems are widely used to safeguard power supply for critical components in various applications ranging from telecommunications and data centers to various industrial facilities. These systems ensure reliable voltage supply by providing a filter function and compensating for short-term power outages from the grid.

There are typically two main configurations for UPS systems, offline and online. Offline systems are connected in parallel to the main supply line and provide support to the mainline. Online systems sit on the main supply line, standard in high power or more demanding applications, and offer better performance and power quality.
