CAT5115 是一款单数字 POT，可用作机械电位计和微调电位计的电子替代产品。此类器件适用于高处理量生产线上的自动化调节，也同样适用于其中需要定期调节的设备难以够到或位于危险或远程环境中的应用。CAT5115 包含一个 32 抽头串联电阻，联接在两个端子 RH 和 RL 之间。通过三个输入引脚控制的正数/倒数计数器和解码器决定哪个抽头联接弧刷 RW。通电时，弧刷始终设置至中点位置，即抽头 15。抽头位置不存储在内存中。CAT5115 的弧刷控制由三个输入控制引脚 CS、U/D 和 INC 来实现。INC 输入按照 U/D 输入逻辑状态所决定的方向推进弧刷。CS 输入用于选择器件。该数字 POT 可用作三端子电阻分压器或两端子可变电阻。数字电位计为更加多样的应用带来了灵活性和可编程能力，其中包括控制、参数调整和信号处理。
