Modern automotive lighting offer more functionalities than just providing light. Working in tandem with advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), they provide dynamic light distribution making the night drives safer and less tiring for the drivers. It is expected that vehicles will include LED (Light Emitting Diodes) light sources in more and more functions. LED drivers control LEDs while increasing efficiency by implementing more modern topologies e.g., synchronous switching. With improvements in LED technology, more light output can be achieved more efficiently.
Automotive lighting includes devices mounted in front, rear, sides and interior of the vehicle. LEDs consume significantly less power while providing brighter and more focused illumination. This efficiency not only reduces the load on the vehicle’s electrical system but also contributes to better fuel economy. Additionally, LEDs have a much longer lifespan, lasting more than 10,000 hours, which means fewer replacements and lower maintenance costs for vehicle owners.
