ON Semiconductor Expands Power MOSFET Portfolio with 12 New Devices for Notebook and Desktop Computers

Power MOSFETs optimize dc-dc conversion and reduce power losses at critical current levels in CPU, GPU, and system rail dc-dc conversion, for both low and high side switching

Phoenix, Ariz. – Feb. 15, 2008 – ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ONNN), a leading global supplier of power management solutions has introduced 12 new power MOSFET devices that optimize dc-dc conversion and reduce power losses at critical current levels. These MOSFETs are ideal for CPU, GPU, and system rail dc-dc conversion - for both low and high side switching in computing applications such as notebooks PCs, desktop PCs and gaming boxes.

These new 25 volt (V) and 30 V devices are single and dual N-channel MOSFETs offering lower RDS(on), that minimizes power dissipation. The devices also provide low gate charge and low gate charge ratio that reduces conduction and switching losses. These performance features combine to make the power subsystem more efficient.

The Devices
The following four MOSFET devices are offered in a SOIC-8 package for use in notebook computers. They are budgetary priced between $0.35 and $0.53 per unit in quantities of 2,500 units.

The additional eight new MOSFET devices are offered in a DPAK package for use in desktop computers and gaming boxes. These devices are budgetary priced between $0.20 and $0.47 per unit in quantities of 2,500 units.

All of these devices are RoHS compliant and are delivered in Pb-free packages.
