ON Semiconductor Foundation Awards $1.35 Million in STEAM Grants to 37 Global Projects

The ON Semiconductor Foundation is thrilled to announce the recipients of its 2025 STEAM Education grants. This year marks a significant milestone as the Foundation, awarding $1.35 million USD to support 37 innovative projects around the world. These grants reflect our ongoing commitment to fostering Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education and empowering the next generation of innovators.  

Celebrating Innovation and Impact

The 2025 grantees represent a diverse array of organizations dedicated to advancing access to STEAM education in their communities. From hands-on robotics and coding to digital literacy, teacher training and tech entrepreneurship, each project is designed to inspire curiosity and equip learners of all backgrounds with real-world skills for the future.

Highlighting select onsemi 2025 Grantees:

1. Project Lead The Way (U.S.) – Supporting schools near onsemi sites to launch or expand Gateway (grades 6–8) and Biomedical Science (high school) programs. 
2. Technovation (Global) – A 60-hour AI/data science and entrepreneurship accelerator for young women (ages 19–24) in onsemi communities. 
3. Good Neighbors International Philippines (Philippines) – Building The Good Library, a digital library STEAM hub in a remote Tarlac community, with internet access, devices and training for students and educators to boost literacy and digital skills. 
4. STEAM for Vietnam Foundation (Vietnam) – Launching a STEAM Hub in Dong Nai for hands-on activities, robotics and coding, engaging thousands of learners annually with a focus on rural and underserved youth. 
5. Generation (India) – POWER: Workforce for Electric and Renewable Tech trains learners for electric vehicle and electronics jobs with an 80% graduation and 70% job placement rate, creating pathways to stable employment. 
6. VSB – Technical University of Ostrava (Czech Republic) – Developing advanced labs and practical training in semiconductor science to strengthen the European university talent pipeline. 
7. Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (Malaysia) – Delivering micro:bit-driven STEM bootcamps and innovation challenges to more than 3,700 students in primary and secondary schools and teachers in rural Malaysia. The program builds digital literacy, problem-solving and creativity, especially in underserved districts. 

Global Reach and Local Impact

These grants will collectively impact millions of learners across Asia, Europe and North America. Each project is tailored to meet local needs, ensuring that underrepresented students from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities have access to high-quality STEAM education and career pathways.

By funding these projects, we aim to inspire curiosity, creativity and critical thinking in students worldwide. Investing in STEAM careers is crucial, especially in fields like semiconductors, where there is a significant global talent gap. According to the Deloitte 2025 Semiconductor Industry Outlook, the global semiconductor sector will need to hire about 1 million additional skilled workers by 2030 to meet growing demand.
